Hut to hut cross-country skiing trek under the northern lights in Finnish Lapland

Original price was: 1.550,00 €.Current price is: 1.450,00 €.

Experience northern lights on this real Lapland adventure. Join this guided wilderness cross-country skiing journey with a small group of passionate outdoors enthusiasts. We are doing this famous hut to hut journey from Hetta to Pallas, staying on three unmanned wilderness cottages.

The journey begins with ski equipment rental and testing, so you will be guided in the use of cross-country skis. We spend a few days doing day journeys before setting off to the 4-day trek through fell of Pyhäkero and beyond. One of the huts had also a sauna, all of them are equipped with firewood and wood burning stove.

Spring is the best time to experience the nature in Lapland, with higher probability of the occurrence of Northern lights and a great snow cover to explore the landscape on skis.

Departure and return point: Sirkka, ski centre of Levi. Get flights to Kittilä in Finland.

Northern lights spotting

We will spend the evenings looking at the northern sky in Western Lapland, one of the most probable locations in Finland to see the aurora borealis. End of March is perfect timing as the temperatures are usually milder, while the skies are clearer as the rainfall is less likely than the mid winter averages.

The journey is timed around the spring equinox, which is one of the most likely times of the year to have higher northern lights activity in the sky. It is however a natural phenomena, so viewing them is not guaranteed.
