Explore the mountain peaks behind Finale on this 2 day trail run and enjoy the local rustic hospitality. We meet up in Finalborgo in the morning of Day 1.
Route description
Day 1
We start from Finalborgo, climb over Caprazoppa to Verezzi and descend to Borgio.
We traverse over Monte Grosso and follow the undulating trail over rocky outcrops, through villages, olive groves and macchia shrubland.
Our long climb in the forests takes us to our luggage pickup point, when we climb up to Rifugio Pian delle Bosse. Famous for it’s hospitality and amazing food, we relax and rest admiring the vast panoramas over the Mediterranean sea. The shower water is hot and the log fires keep us cosy.
The hearty dinner often includes homemade pasta, focaccia or bread baked on the day and a selection of tasty dishes in their full Italian set menu.
Day 2
After enjoying the breakfast at the hut, we climb a rocky ridge up to Monte Carmo 1389m in altitude. The entire climb enjoys stunning views over the Mediterranean sea and as we climb, we start to get glimpses of the taller peaks of the Maritime Alps.
Note we carry the luggage back down with us on the day 2.
We descend the wild trails past Monte Ravinet and descend down to Toirano. We may catch a bus from the uppermost parking or descend ourselves to the Toirano mediaeval village. Final stretch is on a small road along the river into Borghetto Santo Spirito from where we take the bus back to Finale Ligure

This can walked by expert level walkers, due to its lenght.
It is possible to start the day by catching the train / bus to Borgio Verezzi, in which way we can walk instead of running this trail. See the trek itinerary here.

Transport – we will coordinate the train / bus connection or car sharing.
Note
Minimum 3 people to form a group, to be confirmed at latest 24h before the departure. If we need to cancel the day due to low numbers, we will issue a full refund or arrange for an alternative day if you prefer.
Normal rainy day is not grounds for cancellation, please remember to bring waterproof clothing if needed.
